Good luck to you. There are new versions of Sysprep for XP, XPSP1, XPSP2, XPSP3, Vista, Vista SP1. I've looked inc:\_SMSTaskSequence\ but there is no logs folder and the ccm folder doesnt exist in c:\windows Is there anywhere else the log file might be? *EDIT* Found one! Sysprep doesn't like it.

Thank you very much kaminm! It is working to me. I can run sysprep manually which works as expected and when I look for the log files I cannot access them as error access is denied is shown.
As it turns out this error message was being generated by sysprep as I hadn't removed the Windows 8 applications in the supported manner (as detailed here - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2769827). CC and Twitter weren't being installed this way. It puts us at about the same timeframe. the account I am using has local admin credentials. Did you by any chance pointed out for external sysprep files - dont do that.
